What’s New in Tampa Bay

02/22/2026

Spring has arrived in Tampa Bay, bringing fresh flavors, exciting openings, and new experiences for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re looking for a new spot to eat, explore outdoors, or enjoy the city’s cultural scene, there’s plenty to discover this season.

Fresh Eats Across the Bay

Tampa Bay’s culinary scene is thriving. Pete’s Bagels opened its fifth location on the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, offering hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels with a waterfront view, perfect for breakfast or a midday snack. Fans of Jeff’s Bagel Run can look forward to a new Oldsmar location coming in summer 2026, bringing New York-style boiled bagels and house-made cream cheese to the county.

St. Petersburg continues to shine with Monte Pizza, serving wood-fired pies, and Melt n Dip, a dessert lounge with waffles, crepes, gelato, and chocolate-dipped treats. Bob’s Side Piece, a new Italian sandwich and pizza concept, is also making waves in the city. And for those craving beachside barbecue, Outside BBQ is set to open in St. Pete Beach later this spring.

Downtown Tampa is seeing new nightlife and social spots as well. Boogie Heights offers a retro-inspired dance hall with live music and DJs, while Hail Mary Social Club provides a lively setting for sports fans and outdoor gatherings.

New Developments & Cultural Experiences

The cityscape is changing too. Tampa’s WOW! Observation Wheel, planned for Channelside, is expected to open later in 2026, offering panoramic views of the city and bay. Meanwhile, the Transformational Entertainment District in downtown Tampa is set to feature a new live music venue, hotel, retail, and cultural spaces, also coming later this year. Ybor City’s Gasworx redevelopment promises a new mix of dining, entertainment, and walkable experiences for residents and visitors.

Cultural offerings are expanding as well. Creative Pinellas is launching “Making Waves”, a springtime county-wide series featuring art installations, live performances on beaches and in parks, and pop-up gallery tours. Additionally, Tampa Bay restaurants are now eligible for Michelin recognition, highlighting the region’s growing reputation as a food destination.

For those seeking collaborative spaces, new co-working hubs like The Collective St. Pete and EdgeWorks in Clearwater provide creative spaces for remote work and entrepreneurship. Neighborhood gardens and seasonal farmers markets across the area are also bringing communities together with workshops, local produce, and artisan goods.

Outdoor & Seasonal Highlights

Even as new spots emerge, Tampa Bay’s classic attractions remain a big draw. Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands offer scenic beaches, kayaking, and birdwatching, while the Pinellas Trail stretches 38 miles for walking, biking, and jogging, perfect for a weekend adventure.

Spring is also festival season, with WineFest, St. Patrick’s Day parades, and local craft fairs popping up throughout the region. For those who love a little friendly competition, races and community events continue to draw runners and spectators along the waterfront.

From new eateries and nightlife to cultural programs and major city developments, Tampa Bay is full of fresh experiences this spring and plenty to look forward to later in 2026. Whether exploring food, art, outdoor adventures, or family-friendly events, there’s something new to discover across the region.
